Gorgan great wall is the longest architectural remains in ancient Iran (200 km) after china Great wall (6000 km)limes in Germany (548 km) is the third largest defensive wall. This monument is one of the most explicit architectural remains in Grogan plain which extended from Caspian Sea (Safa Ishan village in Gomishan County) to the heights of Nili Kuh in Golesan forest around Kalaleh countyit was called with different names such as Anushiravan dam Alexander dam Firuz dam Qezel Alan (red snake). There are fourty castle by the wall that all of them were built based on square plans. The date of the construction of the wall goes back to Sasanian dynasty.
